July was a busy month with getting ready for the Walthamstow Garden Party and then the end of term and the various events that are held. I had hoped once that was finished I would have more time for some Craftee Fox admin and marketing but I got caught up in making clothes and that hasn’t happened! Part of this admin was to write a blog about my latest design, so better late than never.
Somerset Blooms is a collaboration between my Mum and me, although a collab is probably over stating it a bit as my Mum had already painted the four watercolour pictures and I asked if I could use them. There is chatter of her painting some more for future designs.
So I took the four paintings, played with them in the computer and then had them printed on fabric. I love the way they have come out and intend to play with them some more for other items. I already have a pattern ready to make this into a dress for my daughter, which I’m very excited about – the thought of her wearing a dress made by me with her Grandmother’s painting on. And it’s called Somerset Blooms as Somerset is my Mum’s (and my maiden) surname.
